I WANT TO STRUGGLE!

Every day is a little life and in every little life, we aspire for achievement. All of us, you and me, look forward for that moment when our dreams become colourful. Just like everyone, we have our separate ambition. We need a life's entire devotion, determination and strength to be successful. But what I wonder is from where we'll get this strength in life!

Around us we see many ideal persons and role models from whom we can learn. They have struggled with courage and won with their hearts. Many of them are from hamlets and poorer sections of society. All of them have ventured into the dark world and made lights at the end of the tunnel. All of them have made experience their guru.

Being a part of the upcoming generation, I fear why we are being nurtured and spoon-fed instead of being guided. Circumstances have provided us with luxury and deprived us of the strength that struggles gift us. When we think of a prestigious future, all we see is a far-fetched fantasy. Who is it to blame- us or our guardians?

I'd like to tell all my friends that the world wouldn't be always the same. Every little day has a new beginning and demands a new technique of survival. There seems a need to reiterate ''Experience is the best guru.''

Artist Shoy

This is a picture I drew upon my imagination depicting the grief of the nature as narrated by the writer during the departure of Shakuntala ( അഭിജ്ഞാന ശാകുന്തളം - The Recognition of Shakuntala).

"മേയുന്ന പുല്ലും മറിമാന്‍ മറന്നൂ,
ചെയ്യുന്ന നൃത്തം മയിലും നിറുത്തീ;
പായുന്ന കണ്ണീര്‍ കണമെന്നപോലെ
പെയ്യുന്നിതേ വെള്ളില വള്ളിതോറും."

Dreams Shed-Off

Sonal lives in one of the slums in Mumbai. But she has her dreams. Her slum being near to the airport, she could see an aeroplane everytime she glanced at the sky. Even when she was a child she would fantasize about being high up there, high above everyone. As she grew up to become 14, her dreams grew to aspirations.

She was the third daughter in the five membered potter's family. Neither of her sisters were married. One looked after her ailing mother while the other took care of household chores. Sonal would help her father in pottery after returning from school. The entire family scarcely managed to meet ends with his meagre income. This background condition of her's had always worried her. She never knew if her dreams would blossom.

Sonal always did share with her friends, who are from the same background, about her dreams. Even when they teased her that she dreamed of things that were impossible to happen, she used to reply in a determined tone, "There's nothing you can't achieve with hardwork." She was a smart young girl who had weaved together the dreams of flying one of those planes- a feat that she admired most.

It was on a Sunday eve, sky blackened with clouds, that Sonal spoke of her dreams to her father. He stood helplessly as he had never known that such a great expectation had rooted her mind. But he told her, as gently as he could, that he could not afford it- her dreams would never wear colour. She was shattered. She could not ever imagine her hopes falling apart. She sat in a corner of the house and wept bitterly. Rains poured down as nature sent forth her condolences.

Treasure for Lifetime

Treasure for Lifetime

All my life I wandered
Here and there for its meaning;
On the way I found a treasure
So convincing, so promising,
That I couldn't let go.

With joy overwhelming and
Dreams for future to come

I opened it hopefully
And found a treasure -
A 'treasure of tears!'

Tears of all seven seas
Collected in it for me
To bear from then
On my shoulders for my
Desire to have the treasure.

Happiness dwelled in my heart:
That I had the treasure...
But couldn't express it as
Tears ran down my eyes
When I tried displaying it.

Still I endure it; covered with
A grin on my face, for
It is a play in the venue of Lord
Where the sufferer and the beneficiary
Happens to be me!

The Moon

The Moon

I rise with the night
Spreading faint light
That gently flows down
Onto lands black brown.

I cheer up babies that weep
I put everyone asleep.
As the night turns into day,
I slowly fade away.

Poor Little Flower

Poor Little Flower

You are a wonder,
You are bright.
You fill colour
In everyone’s mind.
Who has plucked you off?

You are pretty,
You are attractive.
You add beauty
To those who wear you.
Who has thrown you down?

Are you dead?
Oh little flower!
You seem so lovely
How can I leave you behind?

"A boy and a girl can never be friends!!!"

This is one of the most convincing explanations of this saying (I personally don't like this saying). This was found in the site Stolen Moments --

Someone Has said "A boy and girl can never be friends"I realized the           reason behind this truth.. after my relation with her came to End.
When a friend is Boythere is no next level of promotion in relationship even if you are dedicated in friendship. But when that friend is Girlthere is            always another space vacant above friendship in her life and if you don't        occupy it someone else will and that someone may make you loose your         friend too.
Oops !! That may be too Much !!but that's the Truth !!                    Poet - Nishant Gunjan

Jacob Barnett- Child Prodigy

JACOB BARNETT

Jacob Barnett
Jacob Barnett is not your average 12-year-old boy. He taught himself calculus, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry…all within about one week. Now, he’s tutoring a few of his fellow college classmates as well.
“Jake” has an IQ of 170…which is higher than that of one Albert Einstein. In fact, he’s now begun an “expanded” version of Einstein’s famous theory of relativity.
His mother, Kristine Barnett, 36, wasn’t really sure if Jacob was really onto something or if he was just spitting out nonsense, so she sent a video of his new theory to the Institute for Advanced Study near Princeton.
Astrophysics professor Scott Tremaine was able to validate Jake’s theory.
Tremaine fired off an email to the family.
“I’m impressed by his interest in physics and the amount that he has learned so far. The theory that he’s working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics. Anyone who solves these will be in line for a Nobel Prize.”
Given the family’s previous performance record in math, Kristin Barnett is a bit surprises.
“I flunked math,” she says. “I know this did not come from me.”
Jake was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a mild form of autism, after his parents became worried about the fact that he didn’t talk until the age of two.
At three years old, Jake could recite the alphabet, forward and then backward. He also used Q-tips to create complex geometrical shapes on the floor of the family living room. He could solved 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzles. He could recite the first 70 digits of the mathematical constant known as pi (he’s up over 200 now). He even studied a state road map and later was able to rattle off every highway and license plate prefix from memory.
By the time he was eight years old, he had moved on from high school and was attending Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis advanced astrophysics classes. There is often so much going on in Jake’s brain, he can’t fall asleep.
His parents got so worried a while back, they took him in for some medical tests. Doctors couldn’t find anything wrong other than the fact that Jake just can’t fall asleep very easily.
“A lot keeps me awake,” Jake says. “I scare people.”
The next step, according to Jacob’s teachers, is for him to leave the classroom and start a paid research role.
Check him out in action below as he teaches us a little bit of Calculus 2…

Poem 1- The Lovely Cat

The lovely cat

I have a cat,
It’s white and fat,
With snow white eyes
It checks spies,
At every night
With all might.

Everyday it makes a match
At least to make one catch.

Once it screamed
For that it dreamed,
As it was kept caught
As if in a drought.

Soon he left his old behaviour
And became our
Lovely cat,
That sleeps on a mat.
